William "Fred" Chase, 83, of Elmira, rejoined his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy, on April 1, 2026.
He was born on July 7, 1942, the son of the late Nancy (Maxin) Hart.
Fred retired after 35 years as a truck driver with the Teamsters.
In his spare time, Fred was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed watching the NY Mets and NY Giants. He was known as Nancy's official "food taster." Above all, Fred will be remembered as a family man who loved spending time with his family.
Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Huggins and his nephew, Michael Huggins.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Parker and Michelle (Andy) Rice; grandchildren, Tommy and Brittany Parker, Haley Gravatt, JT (Taylor) Rice and Kayla Rice; great-grandchildren Jackson and Miles Rice; several nieces, nephews and many friends including his good friend David Cleary.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Arnot Ogden Hospital Floor 5D for the excellent care that Fred received while he was there.
Family and friends are invited to visit McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
