Virginia M. Stanton

October 24, 1945 — April 12, 2021

Ginny was born and raised in Elmira a daughter of the late Thomas G., Sr. and Virginia (Colegrove) Dean. She will be remembered for: her easy laugh, love of people and life, her joy and her rose colored glasses-how she viewed the world. She adored her daughter Meggin and grandchildren Alex, Anthony and Ginger. She was especially proud of her Irish heritage, she taught her nieces and nephews how to be proud of their Irish roots, how to wear it and embrace it. She dressed with intention around the holidays. Ginny had a zest for life, always a hilarious story to share about her latest escapade. She was a woman of many talents: playing the French Horn, teaching Irish step dancing, being an exceptional seamstress, hosting an Irish radio show, heraldic artist, world traveler and entrepreneur. She was exceptionally creative and able to compose unique beautiful artwork, always thinking of others and how she could bring joy to them using her creative talents. Ginny had an infectious desire to find the positive in any situation. She worked at the New York Telephone Company for 20 years and was the owner of Stanton's Heraldry. Ginny leaves behind: daughter Meggin Griffin and fiancé Billy VanSchoick; grandchildren: Virginia "Gingee", Anthony and Alex Currione; sisters: Marilyn (Thomas) Terkoski, Elmira; Karen (Mark) Sweeney, Corning, Kim (Curtis) Ripley, Elmira, Kathleen (Richard) Murdock, Palm Harbor, FL; brothers: Thomas (Margaret) Dean, Buffalo, NY, James (Karen) Dean, New Martinsville, WV; along with many nieces and nephews. She was one of a kind!! Though we know she is fully healed and dancing with Jesus, she will be missed by so many!!! There will be no services.
