Timothy Paul Maney, a lover of music, the outdoors, and quiet moments of joy, passed away, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, doing what he loved—riding his bike. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tim is predeceased by his beloved parents, Vin and Joan (Palmer) Maney, with whom he shared countless days hunting and fishing, especially alongside his father. He is survived by his sister Lynn Cascio and her husband Joe, nephew J.J. Cascio and wife Vanessa, and niece Cara Meyer and husband Justin. Tim cherished his family deeply and found joy in the time they spent together.
A passionate music enthusiast, Tim was known for traveling near and far to attend concerts. Whether it was a small local show or a legendary venue, music was the heartbeat of his life. He found peace and pleasure in the open road, the quiet of the woods, the rhythm of a favorite album, and the freedom of a good bike ride. Tim was retired from the Dept. of Corrections after many years of service.
In honor of Tim’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, his family invites you to put on your favorite record, turn up the volume, and enjoy a moment with those you love—just as he would have wanted.
He leaves behind a legacy of simple joys, soulful tunes, and treasured memories.
Tim’s calling hours will be held at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m.
