Timothy Horigan

October 28, 1942 — June 8, 2017

Age 74, of Le Raysville, PA, passed away at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA on Thursday, June 8, 2017 after suffering a heart attack. Tim was born on October 28, 1942 in Elmira NY, the son of the late J. Harold "Bus" and Rose Alice (Connelly) Horigan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas F. Horigan; aunt, Dolores Horigan; and nephew, Kevin M. Horigan. He is survived by his two daughters, Rose Alice Horigan and Amy Elizabeth Horigan; brother, J. Michael (Elizabeth) Horigan; sister, Johannah (Francis) Troccia; sister-in-law, Joanna "Jodi" Horigan; brother-in-law Calvin J. Ford, Jr.; several nieces, nephews and great nieces, great nephews from Elmira and beyond. Tim served in the United States Army. He was the former proprietor of Bus Horigan's Tavern. In 1985, Tim moved to Old Town Alexandria, VA where he worked at Il Porto Ristorante and Murphy's of Old Town Alexandria and of D.C. (Executive Chef) where he did what he loved best; cooking good food for good people. He retired to Le Raysville, PA in 2008 where he worked part time at the Wyalusing Hotel. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in the Catholic Community of the Epiphany Parish. He was also a member in good standing with the John J. Lee Division of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. Tim was proud to be the only male member of the "Stevensville Bloody Mary Group" that met every Sunday after Mass. He had such a love of America's pastime; the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals lost one of their greatest fans. Tim was loved and admired by all who knew him for his quick wit and congeniality. Services to honor his life will be announced by the family at a later date.
