Thomas Cogswell

Formerly of Denver, CO, passed away at the age of 64 on December 28, 2014 in Ithaca, NY. Tom was born in Elmira on August 30, 1950, the youngest son of the late Michael Clinton Cogswell and Victoria Knott Cogswell. Tom graduated from Elmira Free Academy and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Regis College in Denver, CO. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Jordan Cogswell of Dorchester, MA; daughter Grace of Denver, CO; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Dorothy Cogswell of Skaneateles, NY; Edward and Carol Cogswell of Chicago IL ; Clinton and Jane Cogswell of Concord, NH; John Cogswell and ex-wife Susan of Elmira. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom grew up in Elmira and moved to Colorado after completing high school. He made his life in Colorado, found some mountain property, built his own log cabin, and lived many blissful years there. He particularly loved the Rocky Mountains and climbed Longs Peak yearly with a group of friends. A Memorial Service will be held at McInerny Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
