Therese Rossi

Therese A. Rossi Age 75, returned to her heavenly home on Monday, March 23, 2015. Therese was born in Elmira on February 2, 1940, a daughter of the late John and Prudence (Warner) McMahon. She is also predeceased by her former husband Leonard J. Rossi and special friend Karl Kunold. Therese is survived by her children and their families, Lisa A. Rossi-Sullivan with husband John Sullivan, Jr. of Corning and their sons, Gregory Schiefen, Zachary and Devon Sullivan; Chris Rossi with Michelle Bohart of Elmira, and their granddog "Pinot"; Vincent E. Rossi with wife Staci of Overland Park KS, and daughters, Zoë and Ella; Linda M. Rossi of Elmira and children, Michael, Samuel, Kennedy and Colin Erickson; Patricia A. Rossi-Carrier with husband Peter Carrier of Elmira; along with many special nieces and nephews. Therese took great pride in creating a warm and caring home for her family and friends. After her children were raised she spent several years as a library monitor at Ernie Davis Junior High School. Therese loved traveling on family vacations and spending time near the water. She was an avid reader and quilter. Therese always enjoyed a bowl of good hard chocolate ice cream and a "Dixie" burger. Due to declining health Therese spent the last seven years at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility where she met many special and caring people. During her time there she spent many quiet reflective moments with her nephew Salvatore Rossi who provided her with much spiritual comfort and peace. Therese's greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren. Always the life of any party she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends are invited to St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held there at 3:00 p.m. the same day. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
