Theresa Josbeno

Elmira: Age 72, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Theresa was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Katherine (Jessup) Josbeno. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her infant sisters, Sharon and Mary Claire; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Stanley Knecht. Theresa is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Larry and Ceil Josbeno of Horseheads; sister Bernadette "Bunny" Josbeno Oakes of Elmira; nieces and nephews, Deborah Josbeno (Matt), Stanley Knecht (Lisa), Theresa McKlevis (Paul), John Josbeno (Donna), Christopher Oakes (Jodie), Aimee Miller (Stephen), Benjamin Oakes (Shannon), and Sarah Sassman (Don), many great nieces and nephews, they were the center of her life; lifelong friends, Suzy Butler and Anne Fitzpatrick. Theresa worked in the banking profession for nearly 50 years. She started at Marine Midland Bank, continuing on when it was purchased by HSBC from where she retired. Theresa was very devoted to her nieces and nephews whom she would see on almost a daily basis. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:15 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Ss. Peter and Paul Church. Interment at the convenience of the family. Flowers will be provided by the family.
