Age 73 of Horseheads NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Elderwood of Waverly. Sue was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Fischer Hughes. She was also predeceased by her infant son Matthew Frazee, brother John E. Hughes, and brother-in-law Steve Wasielewski.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Kenneth N. Frazee; son and daughter-in-law, K. Adam and Angela Frazee of Ridgetown Ontario Canada with their sons Aidan and Alexander; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah J. and Jason Sauers of Horseheads with son Logan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth A. Dayne of Elmira, Jean Marie Hughes of Elmira, Patricia A. and Thomas Corcoran of Elmira, Mary Ellen Wasielewski of Medway MA, Margaret A. and Lynn Morseman of Elmira; sister-in-law Grace Hughes of Fletcher NC; several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Sue grew up on Elmira’s Southside and was a 1970 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She went on to earn an associate’s degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Sue and Ken raised their family in the Pittsburgh area. She worked as a draftsman assistant for Radio Ear and later as a retail associate for JoAnn Fabrics. The role she cherished most was as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Sue was an avid and talented seamstress who often worked on many family and friends cherished life pieces. Sue's favorite projects were creating quilt pieces for her loved ones. She had an incredible gift for art. No matter the medium, she picked it up naturally and made something beautiful. Her creativity ran deep, and she passed that love of art down to her family, inspiring them to explore their own creative paths. She also enjoyed many good books. After she and Ken retired, they moved back to the Elmira/ Horseheads area to be close to family.
Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, New York on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:15 p.m. Burial service will take place 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2025, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monongahela PA. Family and friends are welcome to the cemetery service. Those wishing may remember Susan with a donation to the American Diabetes Society or American Cancer Society.
