Sigrid Blackwell

Breesport: Age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Sigrid was born May 29, 1933 a daughter of Helmer and Marie Sampson. She is predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Richard Blackwell, daughter Donna Berg Carr and son David Berg. Sigrid is survived by her daughter Sandra Hartman of Elmira, son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Carole Berg of Elmira, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A social worker, Sigrid worked for various local agencies including E.O.P., C.I.D.S. and Bethany Village. There will be no formal services. Those wishing may join the family for a graveside service on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Hilltop Cemetery, Breesport NY.
