Shirley Seaberg Norton

Shirley Seaberg Norton, 95, died Monday, January 29, 2024, at Woodbrook Assisted Living Residence in Elmira, NY. Born February 9, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, Shirley was the daughter of the late Nathan T. and Margaret Brooks Dreyer. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and a former parishioner of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Jamestown. On May 30, 1949, in Jamestown, she married Donald C. Seaberg, her high school sweetheart. He died in 1986. In 1995, she married Warren (Chuck) Norton in Jamestown. Following Chuck's death in 2015, Shirley made her home at Woodbrook Assisted Living Residence. During her life Shirley was employed and volunteered in many ways that nurtured her family and benefited her community, retiring from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System in Jamestown. She is survived by sons Stephen D. (Anita) Seaberg and Douglas C. (Jane) Seaberg; grandchildren Andrew (Nella Bloom) Seaberg, Gregory (Meg Perine) Seaberg, Rebecca (Jason) Burchfiel, Donald Magnuson, Jeffrey (Lauren) Seaberg and James Seaberg; great-grandchildren Bjorn, Edward, Sienna and Brayden Seaberg, Nathan, Madeleine and Olivia Burchfiel, and Taylor, Matthew and Cassandra Magnuson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Daughter Marsha Magnuson VanNortwick predeceased her in 1996. Shirley will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother and a loyal friend.
