Shirley Dawes

Age 62, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Shirley was born in Sayre PA, daughter of the late Kenneth A. and Beverly Preset Jayne. Shirley was also predeceased by her son Ronald W. Dawes Jr., sister Sandra Murns, brother Kenneth Jayne Jr., father-in-law Harry Dawes, mother-in-law Norma Bennett, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Chris and Dave Harbol. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Ronald W. Dawes Sr.; daughter and son-in-law Dani and Jesse Shock of Elmira; sister and brother-in-law, Tacy and David Larison of Ohio; mother-in-law Betty Dawes of Springville PA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law William Weed with his wife Janine Clearwater of Erin NY, Larry and Jennifer Dawes of Sweet Valley PA, Mike and Wendy Dawes of Huntsville AL, Harry and Ann Dawes of Springville PA, Juanita and Derrick Jayne of West Pittston PA; numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley loved to read and work jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed the outdoors and just being in the woods. She had a special place in her heart for her canine companions Lady and Lil'Willie. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:15 p.m. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in VanEtten at a later date.
