Sharron L. O'Buckley

Age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Sharron was raised in Elmira, daughter of the late John J. and Mary Hogan O'Buckley. She was predeceased by her loving son Michael C. O'Buckley; siblings, Regina O'Buckley, Jerry O'Buckley and Nancy Pavkov; sister-in-law, Diane O'Buckley. Sharron is survived by daughter Jennifer M. O'Buckley-Gotschall (fiancé Jose Ortiz) of Steelton PA; brothers and sister-in-law, Kevin and Kathleen O'Buckley of Alfred NY, Dennis O'Buckley of Durham NC; sister and brother-in-law Michelle and Roy Tucker of Corning NY. Sharron is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Sharron had attended St. Patrick's grammar school and was a 1972 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She had a 35-year career with the NYSDOT as a heavy equipment operator. Sharron was very involved with the CSEA Union, Local 007, for many years and was a former local union president. After her son Michael's death in 2006, Sharron became very involved with Donate Life. Sharron's family was able to make sure that she was a tissue donor as well.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a recitation of the rosary at the conclusion of calling hours.
