Obituary

Sally M. (Lowman) Casteline departed this earthly life March 21, 2026, surrounded by loving family. Born June 1942 and raised in Lowman, NY, she was the youngest of Frederick Jr. and Cecile (Randall) Lowman’s thirteen children.

Sally graduated from Southside High School in 1961 and married Harold L Casteline June 9, 1962. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was loved and respected by many. Sally’s life centered around her home, family, and friends. She had a giving nature and exemplified kindness.

Sally enjoyed taking care of the house and keeping everyone in line. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, tending to her beautiful flower gardens, restoring antique furniture and traveling to North Carolina for family visits. She was especially known for her beloved banana bread shared with everyone for any occasion. Above everything, she deeply cherished the time spent with her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sally was predeceased by her twelve siblings, Helen Moser, Julia Saunders, William Lowman, Martin Lowman, Albert "Dutch" Lowman, Christina Silvers, George Lowman, Mary Liberatore, Esther Mace, Robert Lowman, Seymour Lowman and Edward Lowman, as well as her beloved canine daughter, Maggie Mae.

To cherish her memory, Sally leaves behind her children, Cathy (John) Riopko, Lori Groff (Eric Roblyer), Danny Casteline (Sarah); grandchildren, EJ Groff, Yustin Riopko, Lindsey Casteline and Zack Ward; one great granddaughter, Aria Ward; special niece, Nancilee Mace; and childhood friends (the Lowman gang) Walda Belle Cameron, ElvaLu Hendricks and Sandy VanSchoick, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At Sally's request, services will be private. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY with her husband. Those wishing may remember Sally with a donation to Animal Care Sanctuary, 353 Sanctuary Hill Lane, East Smithfield, PA 18817 or online at animalcaresanctuary.org
