Royce Green

Age 86 of Horseheads NY passed away peacefully at home with his family by his bedside on Friday, November 27, 2015. Royce was born in Caywood NY, a son of George and Flora (Nivison) Green. He was predeceased by sisters and brother-in-law, Esther and James Anecelle, Elsie Munson; brother Harold Green; brother-in-law Donald Haring. Royce is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Haring Green; daughter Nancy J. Waite of Vestal NY with her daughter Jillian; daughter Lori B. Ramich of Elmira with her daughters, Amanda (with Brandon Hodge and their son Gavin Andrew Hodge) and Jessica Ramich; brother-in-law- Donald Munson of Dansville NY; sister-in-law Mary Wescott of Geneva NY; several nieces and nephews. Royce was a graduate of Ovid High School. A U S Air Force veteran he serving during the Korean War and was stationed for 26 months in Alaska doing surveillance of international activities. Royce was a life member of the Elmira Heights American Legion. He earned his Master's Degree from Elmira College. Royce retired as a Senior Correctional Counselor from Camp Monterey in 1984 with over 30 years of state corrections service. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Bath VA Medical Center Home Care nurses, Elizabeth Farboni, RN and Ann-Marie Ross, NP, as well as private home health aides, Ken and Patricia. The family also thanks wonderful friends and neighbors, Rosemary Brown, James and Mary Bush for being there whenever needed. Private family services will be held.
