Elmira: Age 82, passed away at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Friday, October 15, 2021. Rosemary was born in Akron OH, a daughter of the late Evangeline (Cookro) and Bert Rice. She is also predeceased by her step-father William Rice and husband Charlie P. Hackett. Rosemary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, with their children, Jeffery M. Hackett of Elmira, with son Shawn…William C. and Cara Hackett of Minot ND with children, Mychael, Arianna, Meagan and Alexander…Stephen A. and Heidi Hackett of Liverpool NY with children Olivia and Gabriel…Anthony L. and Tina Hackett of Newfield NY with children Jaclyn and Marissa; great-grandchildren, Alina Hackett and Shawn Hackett, Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie and Roderick Bailey of Aurora NY and Judith and John Hoffman of Petoskey MI; along with several nieces and nephews. Rosemary worked as an X-Ray Technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital for several years. A devout Catholic she was a long time-communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, where she sang in the choir. Rosemary was also a faithful adorer at the Adoration Chapel at St. Casimir’s Church for many years. Devoted to her family and friends Rosemary cared for everyone around her. She will be forever loved and missed. There will be an hour of visitation at St. Patrick’s Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Masks are required in church. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Interment, with committal prayers will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
