Rose Demember

Rose A. DeMember Elmira: Age 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2013 after an extended illness. She was born September 28, 1920,in Elmira, daughter of Frank and Rose (Spetaccino) Cifelli. She is predeceased by her husband Bernard P. DeMember, with whom she would have celebrated 71 years of marriage this month, and brother Nick Cifelli. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She lived her life loving and giving fully to each family member and friend. Rose's grandchildren thought of her as a second mother, not a grandmother, as the time she spent loving and nurturing them was cherished. She enjoyed her years as a teacher's aide, and her artistry in needlework, cooking and baking was excellent, and she felt such joy in sharing her work. She is survived by her children, with their spouses, John and Marie DeMember, Massachusetts, Christine and Thomas Kane, California, Kathleen and Peter Lowman, Elmira, Bernadette DeMember, Ithaca; dear friend James Ungvarsky; grandchildren, Erik (Tina) DeMember, John (Nicole) DeMember, Jennifer (Mark) Bonacci, Rosaria (Mark) Kozar, David and Amanda Garrick, Olivia (David) Wahl, Melanie (Manuel) Palomo, Sara and Lauren Lowman; sister-in-law Kaye Cifelli, New Jersey; along with eight great-grandchildren. The DeMember Family would like to thank all of the special people that stopped by or made Rose feel so special during her life, especially when she was ill.
