Roger Petsky

Age 79, of Elmira, NY, passed peacefully on Friday March 17, 2017 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Roger was born in Hornell, NY a son of the late Leo and Helen Wright Petsky. He was predeceased by his brother and sister in-law, Lawrence and Carol Petsky. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra Johnstone Petsky; children, Bruce Terwilliger of Charlotte, NC, Kathleen Verhoeven of Elmira, NY; 6 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren; nephews, Michael and Mary Beth Petsky of Garden City, NY, Timothy Petsky with fiancée Laura Burke of Baltimore, MD and Lawrence B. and Allison Petsky of Macedon, NY; several great nieces and great nephews. Roger was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS New Jersey (BB-62). He worked with NYSEG for 22 years. He loved hunting and fishing. He was member of the American Legion Post #154 and also VFW #901, a past member of the Catholic War Vets #1178 as first Vice Commander and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3818. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Committal prayers and interment at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery with full military honors accorded.
