Age 88, of Elmira, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, 2015. Bob was born in Cortland NY on April 25, 1926 a son of Ruth (Fuller) and Roy W. Palmer. He is predeceased by siblings, Helen Palmer, Donald Palmer, Betty Phillips and son-in-law Mike Troy. Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years Ella May Palmer; children, and their families; Carol A. Troy of Elmira, and sons, Jason and Bryan Stull; William C. and Carine Palmer of Rogers AR and children, Melissa and Alexander; Douglas C. and Fay Palmer of Huntsville AL and children, Jordan (Robin) and Lauren; Andrew J. and Heather Palmer of Summerville SC, and children, Renee (James) DeVito and Kelsey Palmer; great grandchildren, Gage Stull, Morgan Ryan, Whitley Palmer; brother Roy Palmer of Elmira; sister-in-law Alice Boyton of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Bob was a veteran of the U S Army serving his country during World War II. He was a meat cutter at various grocery stores over the years. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m. with Pastor Gail Wilson officiating. Interment, with military honors, will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing may remember Bob with a donation to Riverside United Methodist Church, Food Pantry, 559 Spaulding Street, Elmira NY 14904.
