Robert Francis Hicks

Age 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Chemung county Nursing Facility. Bob was born in Elmira a son of the late Francis and Charlotte (Smith) Hicks. Bob is survived by his wife Gail Haupt Leljedal Hicks, of Elmira; sons: Robert F. Hicks, Jr. of Texas with son Brendan…Brian Hicks of Waverly with children, Brianna, Brooklyn and Brian; step-children: Martin Leljedal (Lisa)…Lisa French…Scott Leljedal… Dave Akins (Kristy)…and Julie Lewis (Rich); numerous step-grandchildren and step- great-grandchildren; along with best friends Bobby and Charlotte West.

Bob was a graduate of Mansfield High School. After high school he enlisted in the U S Navy and served with distinction. Bob retired from the Town of Southport Highway Department, with over twenty years of service. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Private services will be held. Special thanks to the Chemung County Nursing Facility, and nurse Phillip "John", for the wonderful care provided to Bob. Those wishing may honor Bob with a donation to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org.
