Rob Brown Iii

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Elwin Robert (Rob) Brown III age 59 on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Rob was born in Elmira, a son of Judith Butler of Elmira and the late Elwin Robert Brown, Jr. He is also predeceased by infant son Troy and step-father Robert E. Butler. In addition to his mother, Rob is survived by his daughter Autumn Brown of Dover Plains NY with her daughter Adia Herne; son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Kelly Brown of Kenmore NY; sister Linda Brown of Cranford NJ with children, Lindsay (Michael Gebhard) Preucil, Alexa and Chad Preucil; brother and sister-in-law, Alexander "Xander" and Danielle Brown of Elmira with children, Maxx, Ora and Miles Brown; in addition to loving cousins and family in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Rob was an outdoor enthusiast never without an entertaining story to share about his fishing, biking and range ventures. He made his mark professionally as a skilled engineer with Black Box Network Services for over 35 years providing Northern Telecom (Nortel) /Avaya telecommunications solutions for major corporations and business enterprises across the country. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow, with Deacon George Welch officiating. Committal services will then be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any memorial donations to be made in Rob's name to The Resident Council Fund at Absolut Care - Three Rivers at 101 Creekside Drive in Painted Post, NY 14870, in support of the organization of angels who cared for him throughout his illness, or to a charity of choice.
