Richard James Emanuel

Age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home in Elmira. Rick worked for 33 years in the newspaper industry in Corning, Auburn, and Glens Falls. Rick had many titles, but the ones he loved most were husband, father and Pop-Pop. Rick made everyone he met feel valued, and his quick wit and sense of humor won him many friends. He had a quiet way of reaching and supporting those in need. The people who knew Rick best will remember him for the love and pride he had in his family, his loving wife of 35 years, Kelly Turk Emanuel, daughter Alexandra Ruggiero with husband Nicholas and their sons, Luca and Nico; son Eric Emanuel; brothers Robert (Susan) Emanuel, Kenneth (Vicki) Emanuel; sisters-in-law Debra Todd, Patricia Kelley (Patrick), Melissa Wichtowski, Colleen Campbell (Tim), beloved aunt and uncle Mary and Ed Haff, and nieces, nephews and cousins. Rick is predeceased by his mother Connie Saravullo Emanuel, mother-in-law Carol Turk, and his brother Daniel Emanuel. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, W. Water Street, Elmira, on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rick on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira.
