Richard Brown

Elmira: Age 88, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Richard was born February 22, 1925 in Elmira. He is predeceased by his mother Helen Weiss and daughter Roseanna Leonard. Richard is survived by his wife Bernice (Scouten) Brown; children, Jessica (Edward) Byers, Erin and family; Stephen (Nancy) Brown, Elmira; Richard Brown, Elmira and family; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister Alice Wallitt, Elmira and family. Richard was proud to have served his country during WWII and the Korean War in several branches of the United States Military. He was a retired Corrections Officer having worked at Camp Monterey. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:15 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the service. Private interment will take place in Scotchtown Cemetery.
