Rae Drake

Rae C. Drake Elmira: Age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 14, 2012, with her loving family by her side. Rae was born in Elmira on September 16, 1929, daughter of Raymond and Carolyn Fitzgerald Leyden. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Carl J. Drake; daughter and son-in-law, Lindy and Paul DiPietro of Elmira; son David Drake with fiancée Betsy Andrews of Elmira; daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Jeff Roberts of Charlton NY; grandchildren, Andrew and Kara DiPietro, Ben and Maggie Roberts; brothers, Patrick Leyden of Victor NY and Michael Leyden of Champagne IL; sisters-in-law Lynn Leyden of Davidsonville MD and Jeanne Osborne of Ocala FL; along with several nieces and nephews. Rae is predeceased by infant daughter Mary Ann and brother John Leyden. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, for Rae, on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Committal prayers and interment at Woodlawn Cemetery will take place at a later date. Donations in Rae's memory may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 E. Corning Rd., Corning NY 14830. The Drake family would like to offer a special thanks to Jane, Deanna, Maggie, and Diana who provided excellent care to Rae over the last ten months.
