Age 77, of Elmira, NY passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Phyllis was born July 16, 1940 in Eden, NY, the daughter of the late Lawrence C. Miller and Margaret Wohlhueter Miller. She was also predeceased by her twin brothers, Robert and William Miller. Her surviving spouse of 57 years is Robert C. Albee III. Phyllis attended Albright Art School and University of Buffalo. She received her degree in Applied Science and her RN at Corning Community College. Phyllis worked as a nurse at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, and for Dr. Brent Olmstead. She set a wonderful example as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and caregiver. Phyllis gave back to her community by volunteering at numerous organizations: Elmira Junior League, Jayncees, Thursday Morning Musicals, 4H, Camp Iroquois Bd., SPCA Bd., teaching portrait drawing at Booth Elementary School, and Sunday school at Park Church. Phyllis is survived by her children, Robert C. "Robbie" Albee IV of Elmira, Lawrence M. "Larry" (Yvonne) Albee of Hammondsport, Christine "Chrisi" (Dr. William) Naber of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Shawn (Heather) Flynn of Jacksonville, FL, with daughter Azlynn; Heather (Jason) Wood of San Antonio, TX, with children, Aiden, Alexis, Tim, Nick and Michael; William "Buddy", Robert, Megan, Grace, and Sarah Naber of Cincinnati; sisters, Joyce M. (Joseph) Caggiano of Williamsville, NY, Lois M. Miller of Cape Coral, FL; nephew Timothy Patrick Hayes of Richmond, VA; and many close cousins. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, decorating, card games, and living at Keuka Lake. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who never failed to bring a smile to her face. She was so proud of each and every one of them and will be fondly missed and affectionately remembered for being a honest and devoted grandma. Phyllis thanks her doctors, for their care, and her faithful family and many friends for being there when she needed them. A Memorial Service will be held on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2017, 12:00 NOON, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Elmira. Phyllis will be laid to rest on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2017, 12:00 NOON, the Colden, NY cemetery.
