Patrick Kane

Horseheads: Age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Born in Elmira to the late Thomas and Anna (Dickinson) Kane, Pat graduated from Elmira Free Academy and was a well-known banker in the area. Prior to retirement, Pat served as the Director of the Elmira Housing Authority. Pat is survived by his wife, and best friend, “Libby” Mary Elizabeth (Luce) Kane, with whom he just celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children and their spouses: Molly and Curt Bailey, Patrick D. “Pete” and Sue Kane, Katy and Mike Buckley, Matt and Chrissie Kane, Liz and Rick Czerniak; grandchildren and their spouses: Tom (Bre) Kane, Matt and Yuriko Kane, Megan Buckley Hawk and Andrew Hawk, Patrick Buckley, Kathie Kane, Alex Kane, Danny Kane and Simon Kane; great-grandchildren: Liam and Lila Kane; sisters-in law and brothers -in-law, Patricia (Patty Derr) Kane, Joanne Luce, John Luce, and Jim Luce with Marvin Mandelbaum; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Pat is predeceased by his siblings and in-laws: Tom and Betty Kane, Mickey and Dorothy Kane, Jack Kane, Jim and Florence Kane, Patricia and Tom Devlin, Shirley and Edward Makovitch, Vieva Iszard; daughter-in-law: Alice Jurusik Kane; nieces and nephews: Teresa Makovitch Bonarski, Tom Devlin, John Devlin, Mike Kane, Mary Kane and Margaret Kane Nelson; cousins: Charlie and Doris Dickinson. Pat positively impacted the lives of many people. He will be missed dearly. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Pat on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 12:30 p.m., Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1100 W. Church Street, Elmira.
