Age 94, passed away at the Robert Packer Hospital on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Pat was born in Cortland NY, daughter of Harry L. and Mary Call Long. She was predeceased by her husband Robert M. Vetter and brother Robert J. Long. Pat is survived by daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Vetter of Elmira; daughters and sons-in-law Mary Louise and David Smith, Patricia and Shawn Reidy all of Baldwinsville NY; sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Ann Vetter of Hornell NY, Joseph and Maureen Vetter of Gibsonia PA, Daniel and Jacqueline Vetter of Pinehurst NC, Thomas and Sue Vetter of Rochester NY; sister Joann Neuman of Homer NY; nephew Bill Vetter of Rock Hill SC; 24 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and many cousins. Pat was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She was a member of the Ladies Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and had been a longtime volunteer, and former president, of the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. She was a diehard New York Yankee fan, passing her love for the team on to her grandchildren. Pat cherished time spent with family. She always wanted to know what was going on with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water Street, Elmira, on Monday, September 13, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. A prayer service, led by the Ladies Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, will be held at 11:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Patrick's Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
