Patricia Sobkowski

Age 87, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late John and Cecilia (Levanduski) Malanoski. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Malnoski and Evelyn Gural. Pat is survived by her husband Edward J. Sobkowski, with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage with on September 18th; children, Dr. Shawn Sobkowski of Highland Park NJ; Jeffry Sobkowski of Elmira; Lisa Lechliter of Elmira, with husband Don "Charlie" and sons, Brian and Michael; Amy Bellinger of Sayre PA, with her sons, Zachary and Dylan; sister Dorothy Kubinski of Elmira; brother and sister-in-law Gerald "Buddy" and Charlotte Malanoski of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Elmira Pat enjoyed everything Elmira had to offer when she was growing up. She would take trips to NYC on the Phoebe Snow to take in a Broadway show or see a NY Yankee game and loved to shop at all the downtown stores. Pat had a brief career as a secretary for NY Telephone before raising her children. She enjoyed the horses at Finger Lakes Race Track in Canandaigua. Her down time was spent sitting in the sun and soaking up the rays. The three most important things to Pat were her family, faith, and the NY Yankees. She was her grandchildren's number one fan at their sporting events. Pat was a life-long communicant of St. Casimir's Church. The family extends its gratitude to the staff of Bethany Manor who cared for Pat in her final months; a special thanks to Sherry Patrick and Diana Fairchild for their loving dedication. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A prayer service will be follow at 4:00 p.m. On Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Casimir's Church, Elmira, officiated by her nephew Father Scott Kubinski.
