Age 77, of Pine City, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017. Pat was born in Rochester NY a daughter of the late Herbert L. and Olive (Reagan) Emmons. Pat is survived by her loving husband William R. Baker, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage in June; daughters, Deborah M. Baker, PhD of Terre Haute IN; Donna J. Hubbard, Major USAR Retired, of Jacksonville FL, and her husband Brian Hubbard, Lt. Col. U S Air Force, Retired; Katrinia A. Baker, R.Ph. of Pine City; grandchildren, Keith and Amanda Hubbard; cousins, Dorothy Brown of Florida, David (Sue) Williamson of Canada, and Dennis (Lynn) Williamson of Canada; along with several in-laws. Raised in Rochester, by her mother and grandmother, Pat moved to Elmira upon her marriage to Bill. After raising her daughters, Pat started working in the jewelry department at various stores in the Elmira area….Iszard's, McCurdy's, Kaufman's, which fostered her love of jewelry. Through her genealogy research Pat was able to establish a link with ancestors to the Revolutionary War, which enabled her to become a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Music was very important to her over the years, from the time she was a youngster, to her time at St. Mary's Church, where she was a member of the folk group. Volunteering was also important to Pat, whether it was helping out at St. Joseph's Hospital with the Woman's Auxiliary or volunteering with St. Mary's Church, where one of her projects was taking the lead helping a Vietnamese family relocating to Elmira. She was good at flower designing, crafts, loved bingo, and her cats. Pat will be missed dearly by her family. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, with Father Patrick Connor officiating. Interment, with committal prayers, will then take place at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Pat with a donation to the SPCA, Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
