Patricia A. Hourihan

Age 90, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital SNF surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Pat was born in Elmira, a daughter of Francis P. and Johannah McCarthy Crowley. She was predeceased by her husband John E. Hourihan Sr.; infant daughter Ann Hourihan; brothers, Joseph, John and Donald Crowley; sisters, Rita Crowley, Leona Spaulding and Ellen Little; several Crowley and Hourihan in-laws. Pat is survived by her children with their spouses, Kathleen Hourihan-Wenzel and Martin Wenzel of Pine City, John E. Jr. and Anne Hourihan of Pine City, Patrick F. and Therese Hourihan of Pine City, Michael J. and Laurie Hourihan of Watkins Glen, Mary T. and Philip Tkacik of Horseheads, Jeanne H. and Donald Coon of Elmira, Anne M. Hourihan of Elmira, Timothy S. and Jennifer Hourihan of Elmira; sisters, Mary Allen of Buffalo and Margaret Cuer of Ithaca; several beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Pat was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary's Church on Elmira's Southside and a longtime member of the church choir. She retired from SCT BOCES. Pat's greatest joy was time spent with family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Pat with a donation to Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 1010 Davis St., Elmira NY 14901.
