Nancy Meriwether

Age 69, passed away peacefully, at her home, on Monday, July 16, 2018. Nancy was born in Troy PA a daughter of the late Samuel, Sr. and Marie (Blodgett) Heath. She is also predeceased by her brother, Thomas Heath and brother-in-law Les Meriwether. Nancy is survived by her husband of 47 years Joseph Meriwether; son and daughter-in-law William C. and Samantha Meriwether of Horseheads, and their children, Nicholas Harris, Spencer J. and Abigail M. Meriwether; siblings, Samuel, Jr. (Jolene) Heath of Laceyville PA, Joseph Heath of Myrtle Beach SC and Maxine Dunkle of Pine City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vincent J. (Donna) Meriwether of Lakeland FL, Julie (Steve) Bonning of Baltimore MD, Kathy Oakley of Elmira, Carol (Paul Griggs) Meriwether of Wynantskill NY, Sandi Meriwether of Aurora CO; along with several nieces and nephews. Nancy was retired from the Chemung County Nursing Facility with over 20 years of service. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. There will be no calling hours at her request. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Nancy on Thursday, July 26, 2018, 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Committal prayers will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Nancy's family thanks CareFirst Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Nancy. They also thank the retired girls from CCNF for the love and support they provided to Nancy over the last several months.
