Nancy Kurek-Brown

Nancy Kurek-Brown, 69, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025.

Born in Buffalo, NY, to Henry and Eleanor Kurek, Nancy made Elmira her lifelong home.

She was an integral part of growing her husband’s business as a managing partner and bookkeeper, but her greatest and most meaningful role was nurturing her family. Nancy devoted herself to creating a warm and welcoming home, where her devotion and generosity shaped the lives of those she loved.

Nancy had an eye for beauty and creativity, filling her home with art and unique treasures that reflected her creative spirit. She also loved animals deeply, welcoming the many dogs, cats, and other companions that were always part of her household. She especially enjoyed the meals prepared by her husband, David, finding joy in time spent around the table.

She is survived by her husband, David Brown; son, Geoffrey Brown, and his wife, Jacqueline Brown; and sisters, Alison Kurek and Susan Kurek; and aunt Freda Pikula.

Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with family, friends, and animals alike. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
