With faithful hearts, we announce that our precious daughter, Monroe Jolene Bresser, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, after a long, courageous battle against the BRAT1 gene mutation, at just two years old. Though her time with us was far too short, she filled our lives with immeasurable, unconditional love and taught us patience, strength, and determination.
Born on July 27, 2023, Monroe was a radiant light who touched everyone she met with her sweet spirit and vibrant soul. She loved to be cuddled, talked to, and her spa days. Her perseverance, strength, and determination have taught us all how to keep her spirit alive.
Monroe will forever be cherished by her parents, William Otto Bresser III and Victoria L. Ayers; sister, Laynee Bresser; brother, William Otto Bresser IV; grandparents: William Otto (Denise) Bresser Jr.; BilliJo Pickett; Ryan Ayers; Betsy Ayers; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was also blessed with the love and the care of very special people in her life, including Nurse Annie, Nurse Joyce, Midwife Amanda, NICU nurses, PICU Nurses, NYU epileptologist, and the Golisano’s Children’s Pulmonary Care Team.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her beautiful life. Visitation to celebrate Monroe’s life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the McInerny Funeral Home, located at 502 W Water St., Elmira, NY 14905. A graveside service will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammondsport, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Monroe’s memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of America….give.epilepsy.com
