Michael W. Woodhouse, age 76, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, after a few months of declining health. Mike was born and raised in Elmira, a son of the late Richard H. and Mary Rita O’Neil Woodhouse. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Rose Woodhouse of Wellsville NY, Cassandra Woodhouse with her daughter Natalie Woodhouse, both of Elmira; son David Woodhouse of Muncie IN; former wife and friend Britt Nichols of Elmira Heights; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Virginia Woodhouse of Baltimore MD, formerly of Elmira; nephews, Tim and Patrick Woodhouse; niece Ann Neeson; faithful canine companion Chloe.

Mike was a 1968 graduate of Elmira Free Academy and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Paul Smith College. He worked as a vocational instructor for many years at the Elmira Correctional Facility. Mike enjoyed golfing and bowling. He considered being a grandfather to his granddaughter Natalie, his greatest achievement.
