Michael Kane

Age 61, passed away at Auburn Hospital, after a battle with cancer, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Mike was born in Elmira, son of the late George "Mickey" and Dorothy (Wade) Kane. Mike is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Michael Dunham of Auburn NY with son Benjamin; Kathleen E. and Lucas Ruscio of Windsor NY with daughter Amelia; son and daughter-in-law, Sean M. and Danyelle Kane of Auburn NY; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Lyon of Camp Hill PA, Patricia and John Dobranski, Colleen and Jeremiah Groth all of Elmira; brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Cheryl Kane, John and Connie Kane all of Elmira; close personal friend Maxine Parker of Elmira; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mike was a 1974 graduate of Elmira Free Academy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mike retired as Vice President of Operations with EMCom Inc. in Auburn. He was a devoted fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He loved traveling, golfing, the Florida sunshine and his grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, NY, on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
