Michael Jon Durkee, Age 70, of Elmira, NY passed away on February 26, 2026. Born 01/05/1956 to William and Charlotte Nixon Durkee, in Williamsport, PA. Michael graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1974. He attended Williamsport Community College, Corning Community College and vendor schools, ie MIT, Dodge, SKF, Fafnir and Martin. Mike, as he liked to be called retired from Applied Industrial Technologies after 40 plus years. He was a great conversationalist and enjoyed his job in sales. In his younger years he enjoyed cycling, tennis, golf, cross country skiing, fishing, hunting and any activity that allowed him to spend time in the great outdoors. Mike is survived by his wife Debra Bowes-Durkee of 43 years. Stepdaughter, Jessica Kennedy, son, Mitchell Durkee, brother, Stephen Durkee with wife Pauline and their sons, Kevin and Brian, brother in law Steven Bowes and wife Wendy, sister-in-law, Susan Bowes, several nieces and nephews and three grandchildren, Cierra, Aedan and Madelyn Durkee, whom he loved dearly. To honor his wishes there will be no services held.
