Michael P. Duffy

Age 52, of Elmira, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 5, 2024. Michael was born and raised in Elmira, a son of the late Robert C. and Patricia A. Riley Duffy.

Michael is survived by his daughter Meghan Duffy of Elmira; long time companion Amy Charron of Elmira; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Duffy of Elmira and William & Maria Duffy of Aberdeen MD; niece and nephews Molly Duffy with fiancé Nick Turdo, Billy (Megan) Duffy and Levi Duffy; long time family friend Percy Keefe; along with Amy’s family who loved Mike as their own; aunt Regina Duffy and several cousins; his Hibernian brothers and sisters who were his second family.

Mike was a 1989 graduate of Southside High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Anchor Glass in Elmira. He was a proud and active member, and past president, of the John J. Lee Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mike’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin St, Elmira, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page, Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Duff’s memory may be directed to the A.O.H., 701 Kinyon Street, Elmira NY 14904.
