Missy, age 50, passed away peacefully at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Milazzo; children, Isabel Marie Milazzo (Mark) of Elmira, Joseph Anthony Milazzo (Abby) of Buffalo, Anamaria Elizabeth Milazzo and Gabriela Marie Milazzo, both of Elmira; siblings, Heather Wilbur (John), Julie May, and Donald Sherman (Olivia), all of Elmira; father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard and JoAnn Milazzo of Horseheads; sister-in-law Jennifer Robinson (George); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and faithful canine companion Lola.

Missy was a 1993 graduate of Southside High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland and her master’s degree from Elmira College. She taught Spanish for 26 years first at Southside High School and later at Elmira High School. Missy was still teaching up to a few weeks ago. She enjoyed playing pickleball. Her greatest joy came from being a good mom and time spent with her family.
