Maureen O'Shea Daly

Maureen passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Portland OR. Maureen was born in Newfoundland Canada, the daughter of William F. and Alice O’Dwyer O’Shea. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Thomas W. Daly; brother Daniel O’Shea; grandson Jasper Daly; brother-in-law Gerald Daly. Maureen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel P. and Maria Elena Daly of Portland OR with their daughter Lindsey Maria, Thomas W. and Amy Winkles Daly of Elmira with their daughters, Violet and Rose; brothers and sisters-in-law, William F. and Mary Beth O’Shea of East Hampton MA, James F. and Cynthia O’Shea of Monroe NY; sister Alice P. Moré of New Jersey; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maureen was a graduate of Cortland State Teachers College, now SUNY Cortland. She and Tom were the owners of Ireland’s Own Irish Imports Shop on West Church St. in Elmira for many years.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. Committal prayers will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
