Mary Phillips

Mary Phillips, 69, of Elmira Heights, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2025.

She was born on May 17, 1956, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Robert and June Phillips. Mary was a lifelong resident of Elmira and a 1974 graduate of Notre Dame High School.

Mary worked as a waitress in Elmira for 46 years. Best known for her sense of humor and quick wit, Mary spent her life serving her customers and enjoyed watching their families grow throughout the years. Mary was known to her grandkids as ‘Grandma Mimi' and loved her visits with her Nathan, Luke & Lily.

She is survived by her daughter, Kerri Naber, and son-in-law, David Naber, and her grandchildren, Luke and Lily Naber; her son, Brendan Malandra, and grandson, Nathan Malandra; and her sisters, Kathy Meloch, Kim Cumiskey (Joe Cumiskey), and Wendy Shiuster (Leo Shiuster). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Amy Phillips, widow of the late Tony Phillips.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Robert and June Phillips; her brothers, Tony Phillips and Timmy Phillips; and her beloved sister, Robin Mills.
