Mary Kelley

Mary Theresa McNaney Kelley (Sponyoe) Penfield, NY: Aged 60, died at home surrounded by family on Monday, December 10, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving parents, Joseph and Edna (Ferris) Sponyoe, and brother Joe Sponyoe. Survived by her devoted husband Robert Kelley; daughter Jessica Dekdebrun and son-in-law Zachary; daughter Joanna (McNaney) Stein and daughter-in-law Margot; son Adam McNaney and daughter-in-law Julie Beauregard; step-children Robbie and Rachel Kelley; grandsons, Andrew McNaney and Mark Dekdebrun; great-granddaughter Evelyn Foote; her beloved siblings, with their spouses, Ann and Hugh Thorner, Joan and Nadir Figueroa, John and Joyce Sponyoe; sister-in-law Harriet Sponyoe; many treasured nephews, nieces, and dear friends. A teacher at St. Paul's Child Care Center in Rochester, Mary loved working with children. Her smile and humor brought joy to everyone who knew her. Mary will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Friends may call Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water Street, Elmira. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 8:45 a.m., followed by Mary's Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. All are invited. Private interment will take place at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
