Mary E. Belloma

Mary passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday August 15, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Marie Gaiser and special cousins: May Suehs Lane, Jim and Cindy Bentall and Kathy Beebe.

Mary was an only child and always wished for a big family. She is survived by husband of 71 years, Joe and her four children: Pam (Mike) Sullivan, Mark Belloma, Karen (Jerry) Donahoe and Mary Jo (Terry) Balshuweit. She had seven grandchildren: Andrew (Dominique), Peter (Lisa), Matthew (Tori) Sullivan, Patrick (Natalie), Brian and Colleen (Jeff) Donahoe, Amy (David) Hammons, and special cousin Michael J. Lane.

One of her greatest joys was seeing her great-grandchildren, Franklin and Eamon Donahoe, Herbie Hammons and Theo, Benjamin, Sofia, Auora and Andre Sullivan.

Mary’s life centered around her family and friends. She was fortunate to have many good friends throughout her life including her “Old Friends” group from her school days and the “Happy Gang from Home Bureau” and her fellow Red Cross volunteers.

She faced many health problems throughout her life and until this last hospitalization was able to overcome them all. Her family would like to thank the staff at Robert Packer Hospital and especially Sue from family services for their excellent care and kindness.

Mary’s services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. One hour of visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s name can be made to the Isaiah Hospice House 1005 East Avenue Rochester NY 14607.
