Marjorie Cardi

Elmira: Age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Seneca View Nursing Facility in Montour Falls. Marge was born in Sayre PA on July 26, 1922 the daughter of Otto H. and Elizabeth Touhey Lederer. She was predeceased by her son Robert J. Cardi. Marge is survived by her daughter Elizabeth A. Preston of Montour Falls; sons, Joseph V. Cardi of Syracuse and Thomas A. Cardi of Newburgh IN; daughter-in-law Kelly Cardi of Elmira; grandchildren Todd Cardi, Kristy Poole, Jamie Preston, Dana Rentes, Ajay Cardi and Vinny Cardi; great grandchildren, Mariya, Rory, Marilyn, Juan, Laurel, Luca, Lorenzo and Julian. Marge was retired from the Star Gazette with over 35 years of service. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Waverly. Those wishing may make donations in Marge's memory to the Chemung County S.P.C.A., Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
