Marian A. Henley

Elmira: Age 91, passed away on November 9, 2023 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. A daughter of Daniel C. and Elizabeth (Rutledge) Henley, she was a life-long resident of Elmira. Marian is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mary Jane and Colonel (Ret) Giac Modica of Lady Lake FL; nieces and nephews, Christopher (Susanne) Modica, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Daniel (Roni) Modica, Lisa (Daniel) Reagan, Matthew (Jeffrey Inks) Modica, and Wendy Rosenzweig; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marian worked for many years at the Elmira Credit Bureau. She spent a good portion of her adult life taking care of her parents. After her retirement Marian volunteered at Meals On Wheels, loving the interaction with the folks she helped. A very generous person she would give a donation to almost any organization that asked. Marian was a life-long communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Friends are invited to Marian’s Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, 10:00 a.m., St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home.
