Elmira: Age 69, passed away on the Feast of Saint Andrew, November 30, 2022, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, surrounded by her husband, daughters, and son-in-law.

George Gublo; daughters, Bernadette-Louise and husband Brian Brown of Providence RI, Faithe Regina Gublo of New York, NY; sister Kathleen Miller Dzura of Bryn Mawr, PA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald S. and Kathleen Miller of Burke VA, Christopher and Melinda Miller of St. Louis MO; brother-in-law Ned Covault of Detroit MI; nieces Anastasia (Steve Tsolis) Dzura, Natasha Dzura, Colleen (Eric) Stegner and Bridget Euliano; great nieces and nephews Tess Tsolis, Aidan Tsolis, Thomas Stegner, Henry Stegner, and Cecilia Euliano.
Maria Regina was a 1971 Elmira Free Academy graduate, continuing her education at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. After college, she worked down in Georgia as a driving instructor and as a salesperson for local coffee and photo companies. Maria then returned to Elmira and went back to school, earning an LPN degree from Corning Community College. She worked as a private home health care nurse for many years. She was always very proud and happy about her work with the aging, which all began at Our Lady of the Angels Elementary School in Albany, NY, where she volunteered with the Little Sisters of the Poor. Her early developed passion for helping the aging was a calling she enjoyed for the rest of her life.
Maria was a devout Catholic, praying the Rosary daily and, as her family and friends will all attest, an active advocate for praying the Saint Andrew Christmas Novena, which is prayed daily between November 30 and Christmas Day. Her role as an adoration coordinator (as well as being an adorer herself along with her husband) for the Divine Mercy Chapel in Elmira fulfilled her and was a highlight of her life. Maria also loved to swim, and she shared a great love for Keuka Lake, where she and her family spent summers at "The Shamrock," the family's aptly named green cottage on Keuka.
