Margo Symonds

Age 67 of Elmira, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Margo was born in Elmira, a daughter of Grace Campbell Cokely of Elmira and the late Harold L. Cokely. Margo is also predeceased by her brother Scott Cokely. In addition to her mother Margo is survived by her husband of 43 years, James E. Symonds; son Patrick J. Symonds of Elmira with his children, Patrick J., II, Merissa Mae and Krystin Jane; son and daughter-in-law, Brian M. and Amanda Symonds of Land O' Lakes FL with their son Trindon; son Brett L. Symonds of Palm Harbor FL; brother and sister-in-law, Berry and Kathy Cokely of Geneva NY; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Melvin Lee of Elmira, Pam and Jerry Forker of Weaverville NC; along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will take place on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., Woodlawn Cemetery. Margo had retired from Verizon with over 20 years of service. She and Jim enjoyed camping and taking their children and grandchildren with them. Margo enjoyed going to flea markets while wintering in Florida. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her most enjoyable time was spent with her grandchildren.
