She is survived by two sister-in-law’s, Aurella Dean (E.J.), Corning, NY, and Virginia Dean (Francis) in San Leandro CA. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends (especially the Poker Club).

Maggie had many friends and was greatly loved during her career as an RN at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and a nursing instructor at Arnot Ogden Hospital.

Maggie’s main interest in life after her family, and profession was in being of service to the poor. Her love for work of charity came from the example of her parents, support from her husband, Bob, and her devotion to her Catholic faith.

She was involved in Social Ministry, Parish Council, volunteered in kindergarten at Riverside Elementary School, the Sock Drive, helped at the Elmira Community Kitchen, blood pressure checking at monthly Senior Citizen’s luncheons, bereavement luncheons at St. Patrick’s Church, active board member at St. Joseph’s Hospital Alumni Association, March of Dimes, and March Out Hunger.

Maggie was also a Mercy Associate, one who responds to a call from God to Gospel holiness, maintaining individual lifestyles and building up their own lay community, while pledging support to the Sisters of Mercy.

Maggie enjoyed the NFL and was able to attend six Super Bowl Championship games. She also enjoyed traveling, and did extensively in the United States, she also enjoyed travel abroad. These trips included several trips to Ireland, Rio de Janeiro Brazil and Beijing, China. She traveled by Eurail train from France to Italy and then Spain.

She loved her two trips to Italy and was in love with Rome and the Vatican City. She was particularly delighted to visit Lagonegro, Italy and Potenza, Italy, the birthplace of Bob’s father and grandparents.

With everything Maggie was involved with and enjoyed, the most important thing to her was her family. She truly loved family, holiday get togethers, picnics and family reunions.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, friend, neighbor, and servant to humanity. Those who had the good fortune to know her, knew a person who was kind, humorous, good natured, and generous. Maggie will be forever loved and missed.
