Margaret Frawley Kalbaugh

Margaret "Peg" Kalbaugh, age 98, passed away in Chambersburg Hospital on July 11, 2021 after a brief illness. Originally from Elmira, NY she had been residing with her daughter and son-in-law in Chambersburg for the past five years. Peg was pre-deceased by her husband Robert William "Bill" Kalbaugh in 2013. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Frawley of Elmira NY and the sister of the late John Frawley, Jr., Julia Flynn and Mary Frawley. Peg is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary Ann and Chuck Naso; son and daughter-in-law William and Sharon Kalbaugh of Greensboro, NC; grandsons, Michael (Jennifer) of Jamestown, NC, Daniel and Robert (Carol) all residing in Wake Forest, NC; great-granddaughters, Kathryn and Kristen of Jamestown, NC and her beloved sister-in-law Carolyn Aldrich of Schaghticoke, NY. Peg was raised in Elmira and graduated from Hendy Avenue School, Elmira Free Academy and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She proudly served as a U.S. Navy nurse during World War II. Her nursing career continued at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, NY. Following her husband's retirement from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute they re-located to Elmira where they enjoyed playing golf at Elmira Country Club and socializing with the many good friends they made there. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira NY, on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Military honors will be accorded Peg outside of the church, immediately following the Mass. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Wellsboro, PA.
