Margaret Crocker Berger "Peg" Age 76, of Elmira, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Peg was born March 24, 1934, in Elmira, the daughter of the late Fletcher Slee and Cora (Rapelyea) Crocker. She is also predeceased by her husband Donald L. Berger and brother Edward R. Crocker. Peg is survived by her children, with their families, Lisa M. and Daniel Hughes of Endicott with sons, Kevin and Kyle; Jeff R. and Beth Murray of Elmira with daughters, Corinne and Erin; Julie M. and Peter Beaghen of Vestal, NY with daughters, Ella and Haley; Amy S. and Brooks Henderson of Cornelius, NC with sons, Jacob and Jesse. Also surviving are brother and sisters-in-law, John S. and Jacqueline Crocker of Mentor on the Lake, OH, Jan C. Crocker of Sapphire, NC; step-daughter Ann Smith of Horseheads with husband Larry and their children; along with several nieces and nephews. Peg retired from the Elmira City School District after 20 dedicated years of secretarial service. She was a volunteer at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and with Meals on Wheels. Peg loved spending time at Keuka Lake. Most precious to her was time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peg's memory may be made to The American Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice. Peg's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nursing staff on 2B at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, especially Jessica and Toni.
