Margaret S. Allen

Age 66, passed away at Corning Hospital on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Margaret was born in Elmira, one of eleven children to the late Henry and Marguerite (Leslie) Sandore. In addition to her parents, Margaret is predeceased by daughter Debora Ann Allen; sister, Theresa Sandore and brother Henry Sandore. Her sister Linda Knapp passed away on December 10, 2020. Margaret is survived by her loving husband Robert S. "Bob" Allen; son and daughter in-law, Robert Jr. and Amanda Allen of Horseheads with children, Rebecca Sloan, Kaitlynn, Zachary and Brandon Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dave Derry of Horseheads with children, Matthew and Katherine Derry; brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Sandore; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen Stratton, Mary Sandore, Helen Smith, Nancy and William Walworth, Jane Sandore, Joyce and Mark Plaisted; several nieces, nephews and other in-laws. Margaret was a nurse at Elcor for over 20 years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Committal prayers, with interment will take place on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Covid-19 protocol will be followed at the funeral home with mask wearing and social distancing required.
