Lucy Cornacchio Rundell

Age 89 of Elmira NY passed away very unexpectedly Saturday, March 31, 2018. Lucy was born on October 1, 1928 in Elmira NY to Michael and Rose Cornacchio. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by loving companion Jackson Fisher, daughter Linnette T. Cook, great grandson Samuel Rundell, brothers Samuel, Joseph, Anthony, and Pasquale Cornacchio, sisters, Grace Marrone, Irene Messina, Carmella and Rosemarie Cornacchio and special niece Mary Theresa Keefe. Survived by her children, Lucy Morrow (Allen Long), Toni and Dan Comfort, Charles and Mary Ann Rundell, and favorite child A. Michael and Suzanne Rundell; son-in-law John Charles Cook; grandchildren Timothy, Scott (Chris) and John Michael (Lori) Cook, Michael Long, Ryan(Kristen) and Matthew Comfort, Andrew and Stephen Rundell and Adam(Laura) and Alexandra Rundell; great grandchildren Jasmine, Connor, Benjamin, Kendal and Jackson Cook, Jackson, Alex and Jayne Comfort, Emma Rundell, Hannah and Madison Podgorny, Johnny and Payton Rundell; sister, Theresa Conklin of Lawrenceburg, IN and sister-in-law, Linda Cornacchio of Elmira. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved, adored and gave "hell" to whenever necessary, including her "fourth daughter" Carol Clune. Lucy was well known at places of employment which included Peerless Dry Cleaners, Arnot Odgen Hospital and Elmira College. She enjoyed baking her "famous" Italian Cookies which were enjoyed by both family and friends everywhere. She was known for her "Italian Cuisine" and meatballs which is carried on by her family today. She enjoyed the time she spent with her brothers over coffee and cookies throughout the years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Elmira at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 4, 2018. Interment will be held at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery at the family's convenience.
